A SURVEY HAS revealed what names people think are sexy and, spoiler alert, your name probably isn’t on there.
BabyNameWizard conducted a survey over five years and deduced that Alessandro is the sexiest name for a man, while Scarlett is the ridiest first name for women. Thousands of users were quizzed as part of the “research”.
Here are the top ten sexiest names for men.

- Rhett
- Romeo
- Matteo
- Dimitri
- Dane
- Marcelo
- Dante
- Remy
Not a Paudie or Seamie in sight. Instead, all the names sound like characters from a bad romance novel, right?
Meanwhile, on the female side…
- Scarlett
- Nicolette
- Natalia
- Anais
- Paulina
- Alessandra
- Chanel
- Soraya
- Adrianna
- Giuliana
These all sound like the names of supermodels, so that stacks up.
The website also took the liberty of compiling a list of the least sexy males and needless to say, they’re all names typically associated with elderly people.
Bob, Norman, Ernest, Dick and Howard were all deemed not hot on the men’s side. And don’t bother going to Copper’s if your name is Gertrude, Bertha, Agnes, Ethel or Mildred.
The website states that those surveyed were predominantly female and concedes that “an all-male panel” could choose differently.
(We’re pretty sure lads like the name “Lorenzo” as well, though.)
